Have you guys thought about using .Net 3.5. This would allow the use of Extension methods, and also the Excel Power Tools.

The intention is for ExcelDna Contrib to be 3.5 as you suggest and the project file here is set to compile as 3.5

ExcelDna however is 2.0 but this certainly doesnt stop 3.5 add-ins being written.

It will be interesting to see if this will be a problem for people.

I haven't tried using the Excel Power Tools so far but will look them up to see what they offer.

I'm not sure the excel power tools will be much use.

They are aimed at extending things like the Excel.Range object. But excelDNA defines it's own ExcelRange.

However with extensions all the similar helper functions could be constructed.

Do you have a link to ExcelPower Tools? I am struggling to find it.

Or are you referring to the Power Utility Pak?

The Office System Power Tools found Here.

Like I mentioned before these are just extension methods on the various excel components, but it might provide a useful base for extension methods for ExcelDNA.

Looking forward to contributing when I find a spare moment.

Cheers
