Deployment issues

i am new to excelDna, but i like the concept. However i have a question on the deployment of excel spreadsheets to the final users. I guess they need .NET framework installed ?
Is there any problem related to this process ?
How do you envision a development and deployment process of dna scripts ?

thanks for your work

Hi Rwanma

This question would probably get a more comprehensive answer on the main ExcelDna group*, ExcelDnaContrib is a very young project that we are still trying to get off the ground.

To answer your question, yes, to use ExcelDna you would need .NET Framework 2.0 installed. It is a fairly straightforwards process to install it - in fact you will probably find that most users already have it on their machines.

Development and deployment of scripts depends on your personal preference, but if you are planning on a large scale project I would probably recommend writing your functions in a .NET language like C#, and then publishing the assemblies along with the ExcelDna framework (and eventually ExcelDnaContrib assembly as well, once there is some useful stuff in it).

Hope that helps!
